(More customer reviews)I bought 13 of these to do as a craft for my 11 year old daughters birthday party. I ordered a couple of extra ones because of the other reviews that said they may be broken in shipment. Not one of the houses was broken. The packaging and bubble wrap inside the box protected them very well. The corner of one of the boxes was quite dented so I was sure that one would be broke, but when I opened it, it was fine as well. The pre-assembled houses are so cute! There is no reason to waste time putting them together and holding the sides up with jars, like I have done with other houses.
By the way, the price here from party america is by far the best price. Jo'Annes web site has them at $16.99 which is even higher than the Wilton website at $16.50. Michael's has the unassembled type in the stores for the $10 but again, I didn't want to assemble 13 houses.

(More customer reviews)For the first time, a Wilton product has let me down. We purchased the Halloween Pre-Baked Cookie House Kit to make with our children for the first time. We have been purchasing the Christmas Gingerbread House kit for years and have been throughly pleased every year, so thought this one would be much the same. We were sorely dissapointed. We thought it might have the tray like the Christmas one has - part of what makes it so easy, but it didn't. The walls of the house do not square up. We had to go to extreme lengths just to get the main four walls to match up and kind of stick together and even then, they were not at all sturdy. We could not get the roof to go on (after the walls drying overnight) without collapsing the 4 walls. We used up nearly 1/3 of our frosting just trying this. We ended up with large frosting covered cookies, a bunch of candy that really doesn't taste that good and 2 dissapointed children. I really doubt that we're the only ones who had this kind of problem with this product. It seems as if it was almost an afterthought and just thrown together. If you're going to buy it, buy with caution.

(More customer reviews)I'm quite expert at making molded cookies of all kinds, and I was quite pleased to find this pan. However, it is not a cookie mold. Actually, chocolate is the only material for which the manufacturer provides instructions.
The pan is quite handsome as a piece of kitchen decor, and may well work with chocolate. But you'll be disappointed if you try to make cookies with it. It does not make nearly clear enough prints in cookie dough--you can hardly tell what the pictures on the cookies are supposed to be.
Reading the other reviews, it appears that neither reviewer had actually used the pan at the time the reviews were written.

(More customer reviews)I thought I could trust the company to send a very nice GIANT gingerbread house for my family to decorate. Unfortunately it arrived in many broekn pieces. It looks like the manufacturer (Wilton) broke the pieces when it was wrapped. The shrink warp was so tight that the ends were curve up and looked to have caused pressure on the pieces. I don't blame Amazon shipping as it was well packed with bubble wrap in a very large box. Too bad, too much money for this item especially when it arived borken...if I wanted a broken gingerbread house I could have made it myself!

Wilton Cars Cake Pan Review

(More customer reviews)The pan worked out well. It requires one box cake mix. My issues with the pan are first, it was extremely difficult to grease and flour the pan. Second, after it bakes it was hard to see where some of the details where, such as the lightning bolt above the tire, the headlights, the lightning bolt with the number 95, and the number 95 itself. Third, for some reason they placed the purchase logo right over the most complicated area of the design. There is a smaller photo inside so you can still see, but it was a bit frustrating. The cake turned out great none the less. I realized after purchasing this pan there would be no place to write Happy Birthday for my son. I also thought the pan looked small, so I baked a larger square cake base to set this one on. It created a neat 3-D effect, and I was able to write Happy Birthday and create a neat Radiator Springs backdrop. Happy Baking!

Wilton Toy Story Cake Pan Review

(More customer reviews)My husband and I purchased this cake pan in hopes to have a Toy Story Birthday Party for our fantastic two year old. We have never had any cake decorating classes and this cake turned out perfect!! It was a little hard to follow some of the lines made by the design of the cake but we did the best we could and it was awesome!! No one could believe that we had baked and decorated the cake. I would definitely recommend this cake pan to anyone! I must say that you can't judge the decorating of the cake until you are completely finished. Half way through icing the cake as the directions have you do...I thought to myself....THIS IS A DISASTER....BUT I WAS WRONG!!!!!!!! I just had to be patient and finish the whole thing before being able to judge what it looked like. I will post a picture of our cake soon.

The cake itself turned out great once I made some adjustments to the suggested cook time. I only had to cook 2 cakes for it to come out right. (I don't bake much.) The only real downfall for this product is where the hole is located to "check" to see if it's done. It's at a shallow location. So, when I checked to see if it was done, it showed it was. Unfortunately, it was the deeper part of the cake that wasn't done and I had no way of knowing until I took the cake pans apart.

Wilton Stand-Up Cuddly Bear Pan Set Review

I wanted to do a trial run first, so I decided to do an Elmo for my niece who is a huge fan and is sick this week (a little get well soon cake). So I followed the directions for cake mixes that came with it, and it worked out great. I also used the icing recipe they provided, added lots of red food coloring, and we had an Elmo (after cutting off the teddy bear's ears). A little fondant for eyes and nose, and some laffy taffy firecrackers (4th of July party) and he's ready to go. I'm sure the crowd will love it. Will submit the teddy photo after that party, hopefully it will turn out as good, if not better. My only complaint is the form didn't go together as tightly as I would have liked, one of the feet was warped and we had some spillage. The over-run batter burned on the pan, but I soaked it for an hour and it cleaned up fine.

Wilton 301-910 Romantic Castle Cake Set Review

(More customer reviews)About a month ago, my daughter said she'd like Daddy to make her a castle cake for her third birthday. I found this kit online, and thought it looked easy enough. How hard could a "kit cake" be to make?
Once I got into this project, I quickly realized that to make this cake "right", it would be no quick endeavor! We planned ahead. Two days before the party, we started baking cakes and making flowers (easy enough to do that the soon to be birthday girl even helped--fun like Playdo). We froze the cakes.
The day before the party, I iced the (still frozen) cakes and put the glitter on all of the areas it needed to be on (roof-tops, around windows, etc...) For a dad, this is doable, but certainly not easy (I was up until 3 am working on this--of course, I didn't start until very late as I returned home from work late).
The party was in the evening, so I had time the day of to assemble and finish the cake. First, I did rolled fondant on the top only of the base cake, and on the entire second (smaller) cake. Instead of using "melted candy" as the instructions suggest, I used a glue gun to attach some sticks to the towers to help keep them upright. The glue stuck fine, but the wieght of the roof-tops made a couple of the towers unstable at times. After putting on the towers, I used Valentine's day M&M's (red, pink, and White) as "rocks" for the walls of the base cake.
This cake is no easy project for a dad with limited cake baking know-how, and it is also very time consuming to make it right. When my newly-turned 3 year old little princess put her arms around me and said, "Dad, I'm really proud of you. You did a good job on my castle cake." it was ALL WORTH IT!
