One he did not believe that it would be solid or if it was it would be poor quality. Two, he believed some assembly required meant "there goes my day". He and I were very happy to receive such a beautiful table with intricate detailing that was both solid wood and easy to put together. This table was a great buy and if you are looking for a dark wood table this is the one to get!
