My kids all love the Powerpuff Girls and one wanted her birthday party to be PPG themed so I was happy to find that Wilton, a name I've trusted for years, had a pan like this. It's not made anymore as far as I'm aware but it's still easy to find and for fairly cheap. The instructions that come with a pan that's in good to new condition are VERY detailed - they even go so far as to tell you which decorating tips to buy if you want to get the exact look in the picture and offers a recipe to make your own frosting if you want to. I even learned a new technique as to how to get cakes to not crack when I move them from the pan to the plate.
My kids and I opted to follow the picture. It took us nearly 5 hours to get all those colors mixed and frosting-stars dabbed on, though I am sure some of this time had to do with the fact that two of the three helpers were under the age of 8. If you're an adult working alone, you'll probably able to get it done a lot faster, especially if you purchase your frosting colors pre-mixed. The result was a winner: Not only was the birthday girl (and her sisters) thrilled but all of the guests were amazed by the cake, even the boys.
A real fun cake to make and eat. I'll definitely be looking to Wilton's pans for future projects.

The contouring of the pan outlines the form and provides a generous backing to hold the cake. Crafted of quality aluminum, this bakeware heats evenly and keeps interiors moist while allowing surfaces to gently brown. Lightweight yet durable, it also retains its shape and transfers detailing clearly to the food surface. When the party is over, the pan cleans easily so there's less time spent in the kitchen washing up. The pan holds one box of cake mix and comes complete with a recipe and decorating instructions.
