(More customer reviews)We wanted to make canning fresh peaches easier this year, so we decided to try cheesecloth. I ordered both the Regency Cheese Cloth, 2 Square Yd. and the Regency Natural Ultra Fine Cheesecloth because reviews were mixed on the weave.
Ultimately, we used this one to plunk the peaches down in hot water for a minute, then ice-cold water for a minute, to "shock" the fruit and more easily remove the peel. This coarser weave was excellent for straining the water. We only used a portion of it, and were able to wash it and reuse it for something else.
This weave is larger, so if you need to strain, say, cloves from a spicy tea recipe, it won't work. The cloves will fall right through. Use the finer weave cloth mentioned above for that or make cheese.
For larger fruits - like the peaches - this is definitely a good product.
