(More customer reviews)I really liked the lattice side of this cutter. I first tried to cut the pie top by using it like a cookie cutter, but it gave poor results (it didn't cut all the way through the dough) and I ended up cutting each of the impressions with a knife - a long process! I later tried draping the dough over the top of the cutter and rolling it with a rolling pin to force the cut. This worked great and it was much easier to center the pattern on the dough as well. My pie tops turned out beautifully.
Unfortunately, the plastic is very brittle and the cutter developed chips and cracks after only a few hand washings. I have to admit I may not have been as gentle as I should have been (other dishes stacked on top of it in the sink) but I would hope that it could stand up to a little bit more.
