(More customer reviews)its not something i'm jumping up and down over. after trying it out there are drawbacks. you are limited to how much area you can paint on at the ends. since you can't paint all of egg at once, what's the difference in just holding the egg and painting half. then when one half dries, paint the other half??

Decorating is easier and more precise with this handy lathe. It is designed to hold objects such as Christmas ornaments, candlesticks, eggs, bracelets etc., securely but gently in place, while turning the object for easy decorating. It will hold objects up to 4 inches in diameter and as much as 8 inches in length. One handle is spring-loaded and the jaws of each cup are foam padded to provide just enough pressure to hold the object in place. The distance between the jaws is adjustable by means of a thumbscrew in the base. Either handle can be used to rotate your object making the decorating task easy for either right or left hand use. Overall the lathe is 14 inches L x 4 inches W. It is made of a very sturdy plastic in a soft tan color so it will not interfere with your color perception as you decorate your object. There are a number of useful aids built into the lathe as well. Each cup has four equally spaced marks on the rim to act as indicator points for dividing your decorating project into sections. Also, the foam washer in the end of the cups have different size doughnut holes to help facilitate objects that may protrude from the surface of your project such as the cap end of a Christmas ornament. Instructions are included with the lathe and it is individually boxed in a sturdy cardboard container for easy storage when not in use.
