(More customer reviews)I use this stand for Diaper Cakes, which they are great for! I used to cover them in scrapbook paper, but that was a chore. I never figured out a good system. I would glue the paper on while the stand was deconstructed, but once I would put it together and bend the stand, the paper would bulge and bubble. If you are planning on using it with scrapbook paper, make sure you use a hot glue gun or some other heavy duty glue, and try to cover as much of the paper as possible with glue.
I do have some tips for painting them:
The first one I painted I used acryllic craft paint. I had to use 3 coats because the finish of this stand is shiny white. I then covered the paint with mod podge to seal it. It looked great, but it peeled off rather easily if bumped. The second one I did, I bought a small can of primer. I still used acryllic craft paint, but I only had to do 2 coats after the primer. I didn't seal it, and it seemed to work much better. Make sure you construct the stand before painting it. If you do it while it is deconstructed, the paint will bubble and peel when you bend the seams.
Overall it's a great stand for the price, and it's customizable, which I love.
